Colder in Moscow are another great band coming to you from Minnesota. they formed in 2008 and consist of a handful of people who went to school together but did not join forces until after school. Another good example that life definitely goes on after high school.

"but i want to know more"? lucky you. two of the members, Michael and Eric, sat down with us (not literally, but figuratively) to answer a barrage of soul barring questions.

If you were stuck on a desert island and could only take five albums to listen to, what would they be? In no particular order:

  1. Neil Young - Everyone knows this is nowhere
  2. The Hang ups - The Hang ups
  3. The Beatles - Revolver
  4. Modest Mouse - The Lonesome Crowded West
  5. 12 rods - Lost Time

Top 5 favourite books. Again, in no particular order:

Your biggest musical inspirations (or things that have inspired your music). Confusion is probably what inspires my writing the most. I seem to only write about things that make no sense to me. It might be the only way for me to give half-a-damn about what I might be trying to say.

What do you play and record with? One major principle this band has is keeping things real. And real loud when necessary. Whether we are playing a show or recording, we are directly emitting or capturing acoustical sounds. Instead of having a korg triton or something along those lines we use a fender rhodes. The result is a more lively sound. We also try to keep signal paths as short as possible to get more raw organic timbres. When we record, we track all of the instruments live. It's more fun. The album was recorded at Humans Win in NE Minneapolis.
